Introduction
City University of Hong Kong(Dongguan) is located in the Songshan Lake Science City, the pilot area of the Comprehensive National Science Center in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area. The campus covers an area of about 523 acres(with an additional 200 acres of reserved land). It is a mainland–Hong Kong cooperative education institution with independent legal person status, established in accordance with the "Regulations on Chinese–Foreign Cooperative Education" and its implementation measures, and approved by the Ministry of Education.
Aiming to build a high–level university, City University of Hong Kong(Dongguan)fully aligns with the development plan of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area. It follows the principle of "meeting the needs of the nation and leveraging the strengths of Hong Kong" in its discipline construction. The university focuses on the research and application of basic, original, and disruptive "deep technologies" in various disciplines, creating an interdisciplinary open–cooperation platform. It offers programs in cutting–edge fields such as computer science, artificial intelligence, and data science, high–end electronics and information, biomedical engineering, intelligent manufacturing, advanced materials, new energy, and digital economy. It explores new ideas in interdisciplinary integration and cultivates innovative and international talents.
At the same time, the university's discipline construction is closely linked with market demand, supporting the development of strategic emerging industries and future industries. It aims at the forefront of international scientific and technological development and the nation's goal of achieving self–reliance and self–improvement in science and technology, helping to develop new–quality productive forces and serving the country's major strategies.
