Abstract

The influence of elastic anisotropy on the elastic fields and vertical alignment of quantum dots (QD) was investigated using finite element analysis. A phase diagram was constructed to show the effect of anisotropy and cap layer thickness on the vertical correlation of QD. The elastic anisotropy was found to have a strong influence on distributions of strain, stress and strain energy density.
