Abstract
Onset (Tm) and offset (Tl) melting temperatures of glass forming La-Al-Cu-Ni-(Co) and Pd-Cu-Si alloys were measured by studying the melting of these alloys using differential thermal analysis. The compositional dependence of glass transition temperature Tg, and the above two temperatures for these bulk amorphous alloys are presented. The effect of T1 and Trg on glass forming ability for these bulk amorphous alloys will also be evaluated. The correlation between glass forming ability and Trg given by Tg/T1 and Tg/Tm will be discussed.
