Abstract

The effects of Sm substitution for Nd on the microstructure and magnetic properties of hard magnetic bulk amorphous alloy Nd60Fe30Al10 are investigated. This studied attempts to verify the effect of inhomogeneous amorphous phase on the magnetic properties of the alloy. Ingot of nominal composition Sm60Fe30Al10 is prepared by arc-melting of the pure elements Sm, Fe and Al under argon atmosphere.
