Abstract
The use of polymeric waveguides for integrated optics applications was discussed. The easy depositon of polymer was found to be advantageous with respect to other optical waveguide materials. It was shown that the polymers apart from having low production cost, were easily fabricated and were found to be compatible with Si and GaAs fabrication technologies.
