Abstract
The comments and suggestions on 'Passive and active interior noise control of box structures using the structural intensity method' were discussed. The relationship between the normal acoustical density and the structural intensity was also described. The power loss from a vibrating plate was accompanied by a negative divergence of the structural intensity. It was observed that the noise level can be changed through altering the structural intensity. It was also observed that the energy balance equation gives the theoretical relationship between acoustical and structural intensity equations. The quantity and distribution of structural intensity were found to be related to the vibration distribution and level in the structure. It was shown that the altering of the structural intensity can change the sound power that radiates from the structure.
