Abstract

Superbroadband emission covering 1300 to 1700nm wavelength has been obtained in Pr3+-doped aluminum germanate glasses. A maximum emission cross-section of 6.04×10-21cm2 is obtained, and K+-Na+ ion-exchanged glass channel waveguides have been fabricated in these glasses.
