N2 - Melting behavior and the reduced glass transition temperature (Trg) in La-rich La-Cu-Al based alloys was systematically investigated. It was found that reduced glass transition temperature increased to the maximum when the liquidus temperature decreased to the minimum for La86-xCuxAl14 (x = 10-36) alloys. The best glass formation in La-rich La-Cu-Al ternary system was obtained at La66Cu20Al14 alloy, which is at a eutectic point with the highest reduced glass transition temperature of 0.541 among these alloys. The glass forming ability of these alloys is correlated and discussed with their reduced glass transition temperature.
